The fact that more travel bloggers have probably appeared on a TED (or affiliate X gig) stage than travel writers in recent years maybe says a lot - or maybe nothing at all.
Either way, often travel bloggers - especially those constantly on the road - have an interesting story to tell as their circumstances and the way they interact with readers and the industry is sometimes vastly different to so-called traditional writers in the mainstream media.
Following Keith Jenkins of VelvetEscape's turn at a TEDx in Holland a while back, Uncornered Market's story (from husband and wife team, Daniel Noll and Audrey Scott) is also an interesting one.
Slightly whimsical in places, but interesting nonetheless to hear how a couple can put themselves on the road in 75 countries for over six years... and survive.
Maybe getting a TED gig is the new benchmark for success in the travel blogging community?
