HomeAway, which has pledged to ease the online booking of vacation rentals, is debuting ReservationManager for property owners.
ReservationsManager enables U.S. property owners listing on HomeAway to process guest payments using major credit cards or eCheck and funds get deposited into owner's accounts within three business days, HomeAway says.
The credit card fees are 2.5% for Visa, MasterCard and Discover, and 1% for eCheck.
Apart from these fees, there are no other set-up or monthly fees for HomeAway clients and no long-term commitments, HomeAway says.
In addition to payment processing, ReservationManager provides vacation rental owners with customizable email templates to respond to guest inquiries; the capability to automatically populate quotes into rental agreements and payment requests; and a feature to upload an online rental agreement.
Brian Sharples, HomeAway founder and CEO, says ReservationManager came about because owners were looking for "a low-cost payment option" and guests sought the security of online payments.
ReservationManager is available for HomeAway customers and the company plans to release it for VRBO customers "in the near future," a spokesman says.
