Startups are often known for being nimble but just as Nokia announced plans to finally shutter Dopplr next month, one rapid startup saw an opportunity to fill the gap.
Step forward Radar, which even by most startups standards, Radar seems to have got off the ground pretty quickly, going live in a matter of hours after the Dopplr news emerged.
New Zealand-based developer Ben Nolan says he had some 'useful code kicking around' from when he started a trip planning site a while back, which never saw the light of day.
Active development began again when he read the Dopplr news and decided to provide something enabling users of the travel planning site to migrate their data easily before the November 1 cut-off.
According to Nolan, in its 48-hour existence, more than 2,000 trips have been imported from Dopplr to Radar.
