As CEO of Ctrip, James Liang is one of the online travel sector's key figures and was the keynote speaker at TravelDaily's recent conference in China.
In an interview with TravelDaily's CEO and co-founder Charlie Li, Liang was asked about a range of topics of interest to the Chinese audience but which also have global implications.
On mergers and acquisitions he said:

“Investment sometimes just happens. You have to adjust strategy based on the opportunity"
On expansion plans he said:

"We see a lot of potential with Southeast Asian countries because it has the biggest customer base and biggest product offering as well."
On the competitive landscape he said:

"Competition is a good thing for us. If there is a world free from competition, there’s no pressure to get better."
