At the Casa Velas Hotel Boutique in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, guests can soothe their spirits with "decadent spa treatments" and do a little Twitter and Facebook on the side.
The adults-only, all-inclusive AAA Four Diamond resort has taken the meaning of all-inclusive to a new level with the inclusion of social media workshops for guests. A recent survey of guests found considerable interest in using Facebook to share vacation photos, videos and trip anecdotes with friends, family and other hangers-on.
"The workshops help guests create a profile, add friends, upload photos and 'Like' pages in Facebook; create a Twitter account and profile, follow and tweet updates, as well as create and upload videos to YouTube," the hotel states.
In addition to offering the do's and don'ts of social media 101, the hacienda-style hotel, with 80 suites, offers golfing at top area courses, spa packages and even a Relationship Rescue Package replete with a private plunge pool and moonlight couple massage.
Thus, if for some unexpected reason the relationship rescue package doesn't work, you can always tweet all about it.
And, if some people argue that vacations are for real-world experiences rather than social media exercises, at least the Casa Velas social media lessons may be considered more social than one of the latest offerings from Norwegian Cruise Line. On NCL's Norwegian Epic, guests can now rent Gibson Guitars for use in their staterooms.
