The travel app store ecosystem expands yet again, as Concur announces their own branded app center.
The announcement follows Sabre and Amadeus in the increasing trend of opening up private ecosystems to third-party development to both better serve customers and develop incremental revenue from existing platforms.
The Concur App Center launches with some significant partners, providing a solid base for the initial launch.
Of course, many of these apps are already-existing Concur products. Nonetheless, the success of an app center is directly correlated with the number of apps available to customers.
Some of the apps include: borderFile, LemonWallet and TaxiMagic.
The announcement mentions ecosystem creation as one of the key reasons behind the launch. Tim MacDonald, EVP of Platform and Data Services at Concur:

We are focused on creating an ecosystem of partners with innovative new products and services for our customers and their employees. The new Concur App Center will deliver seamless integration via Concur's open platform and we are thrilled that Ping Identity will be among the esteemed apps in the Concur T&E Cloud ecosystem.
One of the more interesting apps is PingOne, the cloud-identity service. This allows travel brands - especially those targeting the corporate travelers most likely to be Concur customers - to integrate a single sign-on service via the Concur App Center integration.
