Airline big data specialist Boxever is partnering with YD, a company that uses real-time information to deliver relevant advertising to consumers.
The companies are targeting airlines with the tie-up because of the volume of customer data they are sitting on which can be used across online marketing.
The aim is to help airlines and other travel companies to segment customers via real-time information in customer databases and market to them at all stages of the purchase - customer acquisition, upselling and cross-selling and brand awareness.
Examples include the ability to retarget customers who have abandoned a flight purchase with a deep link to the booking engine as well as enabling airlines to target them with ancillaries such as car hire and accommodation.
Other examples include sending specific offers to customers who are known to be likely to travel and delivering relevant ads with live inventory to customers based on browsing and purchase behaviour.
Earlier this month Boxever secured a $6 million round of funding to put towards expanding the business. It also revealed Tigerair as its latest customers and hinted at plans to open an office in Asia Pacific.
