Emirates selected ezRez to replace Holiday Autos and LastMinute.com for car rental, hotel and destination activity booking on the airline's websites.
Planned for a first quarter 2011 implementation, consumers would be able to add car rentals, hotels and destination activities to Emirates flights as packages or book cars and hotels on a standalone basis, the companies say.
A Manage a Booking tab on the Dubai-based airline's websites will provide access to itineraries.
The airline's websites currently link off to Holiday Autos for cars and LastMinute.com for hotels, so ezRez would provide a tighter integration for Emirates.
Asked about the move away from Holiday Autos and LastMinute.com, an Emirates spokesperson says the airlines seeks a "fresh approach using the ezRez platform," and declined to elaborate.
Emirates plans to transition to ezRez using its API to access to global inventory, available in 14 languages and supporting payments in 42 currencies.
As airlines look to increase their nonflight revenue, ezRez, based in San Francisco, signed a similar deal recently with LAN Airlines in Latin America.
Later stages of Emirates' ezRez implementation would include use of ezRez's agent booking tool and the ezLoyalty solution to provide enhanced features to the Emirates loyalty program, Skywards, the companies say.
