- Air New Zealand has unveiled a new safety video featuring sketches of celebrities such as Snoop Dog, Barack Obama and the Queen. The video goes live next month and has also been incorporated into the airline's social media channels including the Flying Social Network via a competition to win a round-the-world trip for two.
- IFE Services has been chosen by Thomson Airways to design the user-interface for the inflight entertainment system of the Dreamliner. The UI will enable passengers to select music, movies, television programmes and games from their seats. IFE systems are already employed in Thomson's existing fleet.
- SiteMinder says its RDX (Room Distribution Exchange) system, unveiled at HITEC in Baltimore this week is a game changer. The technology enables hotel systems to connect directly with online channels such as OTAs, social networks and GDS without the need for a third party distribution partner. The company believes the technology is cheaper, more efficient and provides greater control for hoteliers.
- Ski specialist Powder White has unveiled a website optimised for mobile phones and tablets in response to a surge of visitors to its website from mobile devices. The mobile service enables consumers to research accommodation in the Alps, view special offers, check prices and view images.
