Virgin Atlantic released an upgraded version of its Flight Tracker mobile application yesterday, allowing users to monitor the exact location of aircraft on a map.
The app is actually more than just a handy tool for plane spotters - users can check in and select a seat ahead of travelling as well as view timetables and status of any VA flight currently in the air or on the ground.
Content comes in the shape of destination videos (taken from Virgin's VTravelled social network) as well as two games featuring, inevitably, Virgin figurehead Richard Branson.
But it is the tracking element which will capture much of the attention as it allows users to find aircraft on a spinning globe and obtain detailed information about each flight and unit.
Nevertheless, Virgin produced a rather creepy promotion ad for the app:
