There is certainly money kicking about for startups, it appears, especially in pockets of South East Asia where Travelogy has just won a tidy $200,000 funding package.
The umbrella company behind consumer sites such as ComeSingapore, Nearby.sg and TripZilla secured the round courtesy of Crystal Horse Investments and the Singapore Media Development Authority.
The company first arrived on the scene in the summer of 2010 with the fledgling ComeSingapore consumer platform, essentially a listings and trip planning service.
Tripzilla is an outbound service for Singaporeans looking to travel to other countries in the region such as Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.
The funding round is part of the iJAM Reload project and Travelogy is one of the first companies to be supported by the project.
As a result of the investment, CEO and founder Winnie Tan says the company will expand to Malaysia in the coming months and then eventually into the Philippines and Indonesia.
Crystal has previously invested in the likes of iBilik, Around and Save 22.
