Hotels which are clean get better reviews and can charge higher rates, says a survey by a hotel cleaning business.
P&G Professional is "the B2B and away from home division of Procter & Gamble" and the survey was carried out with Trivago.
The hotel meta runs a Quality Test survey, in which guests are paid cash and get money off bookings for filling in a more-than-usually detailed customer satisfaction survey.
The pair say that 78% of guests expect "above average" cleanliness for the hotel, and that improving the hotels cleanliness rating can improve its overall star rating which in turn can lead to higher rates.
So that's easy, then! Just clean the rooms properly and watch the revPAR rocket. If only...
