Spin The Hamster. Blow The Propeller. Hold That Thought. Follow The Footsteps - four phrases consumers might associate with something very different from an airline mobile app.
But the cheeky marketers and developers at Scandinavian airline giant SAS have seized on its "most punctual airline" tag (according to FlightStats) to create an iPhone application for people to use while they are delayed at airports.
The TimeKiller app includes four very simple games, called Spin The Hamster, Blow The Propeller, Hold That Thought and Follow The Footsteps for users "that do not have our exceptional punctuality record" - all of which use the iPhone's various rotate and touch functionality.
All good fun, but presumably the airline will be hoping that despite the app being promoted heavily on the site, its own passengers will not be forced to use it on the (obviously rare) occasions when SAS does have reliability issues.
