How's this for a hotel-marketing threesome? Book a two-night weekend stay at a Sheraton Hotel in the U.S., provide an AAA promotion code and you'll also get two general admission/lawn tickets for a Live Nation-organized concert.
Starwood Hotels, Sheraton's parent, is promoting the package through e-mail marketing under the subject line, "AAA members score 2 concert tickets at Sheraton."
The two tickets are said to have a total value of $80.
Click on the "Book Now" button in the email and you navigate to a Sheraton site, where you can enter your desired city and book a two-night Sheraton stay, arriving on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday to qualify. You must have completed your stay by Sept. 5, 2011. You have to enter or mention AAALAWN to be eligible.
With creative promotions like these, which is being marketed to AAA members, it's clear that merchandising and ancillary services is not limited to extra legroom and lounge space for airlines, but also involve hotels and Sheryl Crow concerts.
