Forget those servers: Sabre rounded out its hospitality portfolio with the acquisition of Web-based property management system provider SoftHotel.
Through the acquisition of the company, based in Chandler, Ariz., Sabre Hospitality Solutions fills a PMS gap in its solutions' set and gains PMS expertise, says Kim Blackmon, a Sabre spokeswoman.
"By fully integrating SoftHotel's solutions with those of our existing Sabre Hospitality Solutions product suite, we will accelerate our technology roadmap," Blackmon says.
Sabre Hospitality Solutions can now offer hotels enhanced channel and revenue management, better pricing and inventory control, and "superior profile management with the ability to recognize customers shopping in every channel," Blackmon claims.
SoftHotels' solutions include SoftHotelPMX, for channel and revenue optimization; StayMgr, a property management system which gives front desk clerks access to the information they need to accommodate guests; and InnSite, a Web-based tool capable of manage multiple properties.
Sabre Hospitality Solutions hopes its rounded-out portfolio will mean that hotel customers won't have to use multiple vendors.
The Web-based nature of the SoftHotel PMS means properties won't require a server to operate it, Sabre says.
With the acquisition, Sabre also picks up market share: SoftHotel has more than 4,500 installations, Sabre says.
