At a customer conference this week Felix Laboy boss of Sabre Hospitality Solutions threw some light on cool stuff others are developing before launching into what his team is working on.
First up is virtual textures where consumers could let others experience the softness of a hotel's bed sheets or the sand on the beach via touchscreen technology.

The magic mirror was next which could be employed within hotels and customised to each guest to inform them every morning of the day's meetings, news, weather and other relevant information - maybe even wardrobe suggestions.
Finally Li-Fi, a new take on Wi-Fi which uses lightbulbs to provide internet access by transmitting information via pulses of light - more from New Scientist here.
