HomeAway's push to expand its vacation rental presence in Australia picked up some momentum with an acquisition of realholidays.com.au.
HomeAway, which has an initial public offering in the works, intends to add realholidays' 21,000 vacation rental listings to the 105,900 on HomeAway.com.au.
James Cassidy, who formerly worked at realholidays and stayz.com.au, manages HomeAway.com.au out of the company's Melbourne office.
HomeAway formed an Australia subsidiary in 2011.
Its principal competitor in Australia is Fairfax Digital, which operates stayz.
Terms of the realholidays acquisition were not disclosed.
