Almost a year after partnering with eLong, HotelsCombined expanded its reach in China and other parts of Asia by integrating hotel rates from Ctrip, as well.
So now if you search for a hotel room in Shanghai, you might see rates from Ctrip, eLong, Booking.com, InterContinental Hotels, Priceline.com, Agoda.com, Otel.com, EasyClickTravel.com, Holiday Inn Express and other providers.
HotelsCombined shows the base rate and total rate, including taxes and fees, for each property and when you click on one of the offerings, you navigate to the source website for booking options.
Both Ctrip and eLong offer phone and online booking options, says Vicki Byrne, a HotelsCombined spokeswoman.
Ctrip is considered the largest online travel agency in China.
"China is a growing destination for our global spread of users and this integration will help plug in the gap and meet the demand,” says Hichame Assi, head of International strategy and online marketing for HotelsCombined.
The HotelsCombined announcement about Ctrip comes as Expedia increased its stake in eLong to about 63%.
