For travel agents who have been social-media shy, Amadeus is going to fix them up.
The tech company is staffing a booth at the cruise3sixty conference in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., over the next few days, promising that Amadeus tweet and status-update gurus "will personally assist you in creating your own business social media presence in a matter of minutes -- for FREE!"
What that means, says Amadeus spokeswoman Debra Iannaci, is "Amadeus staff will be available to advise and assist agents, hands on, in setting up a social media presence -- Facebook, YouTube or Twitter account -- for their business."
Of course, the free social media assist comes with a pitch for Amadeus North America's social media consulting services.
"We're eager to talk to you one-on-one about the newest approaches to selling leisure travel, including using social media to market your travel business," Amadeus says.
The so-called Connect Station (booth #719 at C360) may also be soon coming to a conference near you.
Iannaci says the Connect Station may become a mainstay of the Amadeus presence at other industry gatherings, as well.
It's all so very social.
