Social media-powered travel startup Luxury Travel Hackers has raised $250,000 in equity crowdfunding to build its recommendation and booking engine.
ATX Venture Partners’ Chris Shonk, who has invested in travel apps such as Elude, participated in the round – which was raised in two weeks via StartEngine – and will join Luxury Travel Hacks as an advisory board member.
Launched in 2021, Luxury Travel Hackers puts together travel recommendations using influencer-produced social media and video content and makes trips bookable via social channels.
Trips are curated based on the budget and interest of each traveler and are booked via a “drag and drop” feature.
Luxury Travel Hackers CMO Daniel Lannon says the startup “heavily tested and proved the LTH model with Facebook and Instagram advertisements and saw lead generation cost 25x lower than the industry standard,” with thousands of people entering the sales funnel and booking trips.
