Smartvel, a specialist in destination content technology, has announced funding of just over $1 million.
Investors in the round for the Spain-based company included Caixa Capital Risc and Alsa, which have both invested in the startup before.
The are joined by Fides Capital and Faraday Venture Partners.
The company says the funding will help it expand further as well as develop its technology, which provides live destination guides for travel companies such as airlines, hotels and destination marketing companies.

In a statement, Smartvel CEO Inigo Valenzuela says:
“Companies need to bet on new technologies and services that add value during the entire cycle of the connected traveller, in order to differentiate themselves from the competition and retain their users.”
Smartvel recently acquired London-based content marketing company Pearlshare.
Customers of the startup include Singapore Airlines, the City of Buenos Aires and Air Europa.
