India-based late-booking service RoomsTonite has withdrawn its mobile app and is showing no signs of life.
The company's website ("India’s #1 last minute hotel booking app") has removed links to Google Play and iTunes shops to download the app and links to pages describing the service are now dead.
The demise of the company comes amid speculation that a previously announced funding round did not materalise.
RoomsTonite claimed to have raised $1.5 million in an angel deal in December 2015.
It has since been speculated that the round did not come through as planned and the company has failed to secure new funds to continue day-to-day operations.
Two of angels supporting the round, Vissal Mathew and Balamurali Krishna, were employees of the RoomsTonite founder and CEO Suresh John's other company, property management system provider IDS Next.
John is still executive chairman of IDS Next. He has not responded to requests for comment.
According TechCircle, some RoomsTonite employees left the company to join IDS last summer.
Like many other late-booking services, RoomsTonite started out on the same-day model before gradually extending the booking window to a longer bridge - in RoomsTonite's case, 72-hours.
It was followed a few months later by HotelQuickly.
Both companies had followed the same-day pioneer HotelTonight's own move to extend the booking window in 2011.
