Aircraft manufacturer Airbus and crowdsourcing marketplace HeroX are looking to the wider world for ways to use the metaverse to boost the travel experience.
The pair have launched a “Metaverse and the Future of Flight” competition calling for “out-of-the-box thinkers to re-envision air travel.”
The companies view digital worlds as a place to experiment and augment real-life experiences such as travel and want people to find immersive for travelers to engage with the virtual world during the travel process.
Marc Fischer, SVP cabin and cargo engineering, Airbus, says. “Metaverse is an unknown world and we’d like to understand how it can elevate our passengers' experience. This challenge is a perfect start.”
